US export controls on AI

The grand features of modern international economics are the Third Globalisation and the tech wars. An important step was taken in this vein last week, in the US, with restrictions on the export of AI technology. In my column in the Business Standard yesterday, I examine the extent to which these impinge on the economic growth strategy for India. My main argument is that the impact is small.
