Preparing for a changing monsoon

If climate change induces substantial changes upon the Indian monsoon, this will have very large ramifications. My column in the Business Standard on Monday was on this. All of us should be watching this space more.

Policy makers need to initiate some long range projects that improve Indian climate resilience, with an eye on these possibilities. Six areas that loom large are (1) monitoring, (2) disaster resilience, (3) price system in food, (4) land market, (5) a migration-friendly society, and (6) decarbonisation.
