New Education Policy, Corporate bonds, and a conversation

I have a column in the Business Standard today, Carrying the ideas of the New Education Policy to execution where I help locate some elements of the NEP in the themes of market failure and state capacity.

The fledgling Indian corporate bond market has faced difficulties, first in 2008, and then in an extended period starting in August 2018 at the IL&FS default. On 7 August, Rajeswari Sengupta and Harsh Vardhan have an article The Indian corporate bond market: From the IL&FS default to the pandemic on The Leap Blog, which shows the facts about what happened and helps us interpret it.

Shruti Rajagopalan launched a new podcast, Ideas of India, on 6 August, with a conversation with me.
