Five questions about the world economy in 2023
The external environment is unusually important in shaping the Indian economy, e.g. as was seen during the pandemic where exports growth helped at a time when consumption and investment were sluggish. In my column in the Business Standard today, Five questions for 2023, I show the 5.5 big things that we need to keep our eyes on, in the evolution of the global economic situation. Strategists in India need to form a view on these, think through their scenarios, assess their exposure, and weave these considerations into their thinking.

The remarkable CEPT University is now 50 years old. In celebrating this 50th year, they have planned a `FP50 Commemorative Lecture Series’. I did the inaugural lecture of this series, titled What’s best done at the union, the state and the city?
New book on the Indian bankruptcy reform
A new edited book brings together a lot of the founding team of the Indian bankruptcy reform. Insolvency and Bankruptcy Reforms in India, Springer series on India Studies in Business and Economics, Susan Thomas (editor), 2022.
Conversation on the Puliyabaazi podcast
I have a conversation with Khyati Pathak, Saurabh Chandra and Pranay Kotasthane on the Puliyabaazi podcast [audio] [video].
ISOTR 2nd ed on Kindle
There was a delay in revving the Kindle edition of In service of the republic: The art and science of economic policy. This has been solved. To tell them apart, the cover of the 2nd edition has praise quotes on the front cover while the 1st edition does not.

I liked the post very much indeed. The lecture at CEPT is clear lucid and insightful Bravo! I am also particularly happy about the addition in the revised version of your book dealing with capacity lack (which ahs been bothering me a lot of late). I look forward to reading it and learning from it!
