Envisioning an India-US free trade agreement
In the conventional wisdom, this is an age of nationalism, where the sensible economics of globalisation is being forgotten. In my column in the Business Standard of yesterday, Envisioning an India-US free trade agreement, I draw on wisdom from Daniel Rothschild at the 2024 EMC about the political feasibility of an India-US free trade agreement in 2025, and sketch the contours of the issues that would feature in the negotiation.
Rethinking innovation policy in India
Sanjay Kallapur and others are building a new journal, Accounting theory and practice. The paper Rethinking innovation policy in India: Amplifying spillovers through contracting-out by R. A. Mashelkar, Susan Thomas and me has appeared in their Volume 1. Also see the landing page for this paper on the XKDR Forum website. This paper is innovative in rethinking innovation policy in India, and draws on the body of knowledge that we have been building at XKDR Forum on government contracting.
