A column and a conversation on Indian firms; Everything is everything, Ep14
The firms of middle India
While there is much excitement about the success of the biggest Indian firms, there are significant problems in a large fraction of smaller firms, what we may term `the firms of middle India’. The leadership of these firms faces the agonising choice between amplifying their effort, or stagnating while holding back on commitment, or exiting.
My column in the Business Standard on 2 October, The firms of middle India, thinks about the impact on long-term growth of these problems, the optimisation of the leadership, and the conditions under which more firms will try to up their game.
A conversation on firms
I did a conversation on the `Soul searching’ podcast with Ryan Dsouza about Indian firms.
Episodes 14 of Everything is everything
At Episode 14 of `Everything is everything’, Amit Varma and I looked at the current state of the Ukraine war, and the outlook for Ukraine’s counter-offensive that began late in the summer and may now run up against the winter.
While this episode of the youtube show is self-contained, it serves as an update to the full length podcast episode on the Ukraine war on `The seen and the unseen’ that we had done prior to the counter-offensive, on 23 June.
